a worthy note, for those lacking the will to read ... if you buy tales of valour you do not need to download this mofo of a patch ... it comes with the game. on a sep note that is a fairly cool thing to do on their part ... letting the rich kids play with the poor kids and everything ... without the whole wrong version so you cant play type messages. i wonder if they will have fixed the whole cannot play opposing fronts ... "insert the correct CoH:OP disc into the drive" ... message you get when you cannot access the relic servers to validate your game is legit??

You'll be amused to know that prior to my getting CoH:OF working, I too had the "Insert Disc" error. Needless to say one was not amused, although you would have no doubt been splitting at the sides with laughter...* I did manage to get the damn thing working in the end though. *

The map mp_bridges_and_metal loaded as part of a skirmish so that hopefully bodes well for using it when we get bored of the original three It will be interesting to see how the games played out in a versus situation ... although that means people will have to be practicing with the jerries as well

In light of Bungirl's connection issues, I checked out the Relic forums just now and it seems there might be a fix: -

ALSO:- despite it saying (i'm sure) that they are all 4vs4 maps aka 8plyr, two of them are not and fall into other categories so don't be alarmed if you only see three in the 4vs4 drop down!!!

Rather unamusingly, I updated my gfx drivers last night and then made the mistake of turning on CoH to see if the updated gfx drivers would allow me to play the saved campaign files I have - I wish I hadn't bothered - Steam proceeded to (I presume, since I left it on overnight) download the 1.5Gb patch we mentioned previously. So if any of you are planning on playing it at over the weekend, then you'd better get Steam turned on and get patching.. Also, for those who haven't bought it yet, Amazon.co.uk have Tales of Valor for £17.99

Right! I've added that port to my firewall exceptions. I guess we'll soon find out if it works Also, for those who haven't bought it yet, Amazon.co.uk have Tales of Valor for £17.99 Nice one Edge...might have to invest, although this may cause more 'NAT negotiation' issues

There's a new mod available called Eastern Front: - Eastern Front is a free mod for Company of Heroes. Following the ethos of mimicking a Relic Entertainment expansion pack, Eastern Front has succeeded in adding a full Soviet faction packed with unique and exciting units to the existing armies - a feat never before achieved in the Company of Heroes world. Thought I might download it and try it out either this week, or over the weekend - anyone else game for a laugh? http://bit.ly/aGY2SN

I think I need more practice Did you need to download version 1.0 as the website says, or was it just this file? I've not tried it yet myself Scratch that, I already downloaded it, but hadn't noticed that it has everything you need included from that link.
