When asked if Left 4 Dead had now become an annually updated franchise, and whether 2010 would see the release of Left 4 Dead 3, Faliszek replied: “We do it once in a year and everyone’s like, oh my God! Let’s do this one. Let’s worry about this and then we’ll see." Old Chet sounds a bit flustered does he not? Sounds like the interviewer took that bitch to the new school!

That said, Valve have always been VERY good with other games long lived support and content updates. Is this as the weiners on the interweb say just a cash drive or as Valve put forward, the changes were too many and fundamental for the old engine to take and so gave life to L4D2. I'll pass judgement when i see this new content as I'll be buying it based on the strength of the first one. I would say, they should release a good sdk this time to help pull back their lost rep

As l4d 2 release nears, who's buying it? I've been too long from the zombie slaughter.

I've been considering it, but it seems with the release of Crash Course, there's still life in the old dog yet (Left4Dead that is) Anybody fancy a bash at the new DLC today? (And I will probably buy Left4dead 2, but not at full price if I can help it)

I for one will be buying L4D2.
The first one was a breath of fresh air into the FPS-coop industry. Great fun and easy to play ... alot longer to 'master'. (and by play... i mean not having a team mate like von Jonno whose always exploring those dark crannies on his own ... has he not seen a Zombie movie before??)
I agree that it feels abit like a rip, them not supporting it earlier and bringing out a sequel so soon after the original but then they are there to make money, and without money the wheels dont turn. (look at the makers of Titan Quest ... great game ... got ripped and put on the net ... company gone bust).
If ppl expect a PC game industry to exist, they must buy games.
P.S. Uteen =sign into steam from time to time and suggest a game! esp as Veg pointed out, Crash Course is now released.

Got this pre-ordered now... 15 days to go! (why are they releasing it on a bloody Tuesday? Friday would make far more sense. Fools.)

It must be the EggsBox 360 teaching me bad habits, as I always go for a digital downloads if they're available, especially if either way the games get locked into an account (That said, of course, the secondhand market for the 360 is awesome - picked up five reasonably new games over the weekend for £20, and I wouldn't want that market to disappear.)

I have largely adopted the same policy - but I've been stung recently buying things on Steam when I could have gotten them cheaper elsewhere. Also, having a disc means you're free of the massive download required when reinstalling - especially if the "backups" you made through Steam itself fail to work. Speaking of which, I notice that Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is now £17.99 on Amazon - I think it's still at least £30 on Steam?
